Individual Counselling

Individual Counselling

Individual Counselling

There are many different pathways that lead an individual towards counselling. Often people reach out because they have a desire to feel different within their lives. Or they are hoping to understand a pattern they are stuck in that is affecting the relationship with themselves or important people surrounding them. When people find themselves stuck in the cycle of frustration and negativity, it can feel as though it takes too much energy to do things differently. They often don’t know where to begin, how to make change or how to be kind to themselves as they go through the process.

You may be able to relate to some of the following:

  • Thinking negative and critical thoughts about yourself and your life.
  • Feeling sad and tired, unable to get yourself going.
  • Feeling anxious, stressed and unable to think clearly.
  • Withdrawing from people, feeling isolated and alone.
  • Suffering physical, emotional or mental exhaustion.
  • Experiencing moodiness, pessimism, frustration, impatience.
  • Believing you are undeserving of success or achievements you have made.

If you have been feeling overwhelmed and as though life is off track, we can help guide you towards a healthier path.

Individual therapy can give you the opportunity to learn who you are and to discover why you do the things the way you do. Counselling is about connecting with yourself, having an honest conversation and figuring out how and why you navigate through your life the way you do. It can help you regain trust and balance, structure and routine. You can learn to manage the stressors that are interfering in your life and in your relationships by developing healthy coping strategies and problem-solving skills. We focus on drawing out your strengths and supporting you as you make practical and effective changes.

We provide a range of services that lead you towards balance, healing, growth, improved self-worth and more connected relationships.

Individual Counselling Practice Areas:

  • Trauma/Complex Trauma/PTSD (sexual abuse, childhood abuse, neglect, emotional, verbal, and physical abuse)
  • Overwhelming mental strains of functioning in society today
  • Eating Disorders and Body Image (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating)
  • Anxiety – Generalized and Social
  • Depression
  • Grief and Loss
  • Low Self-Esteem, Self-Confidence, Self-Criticism
